Drew Barrymore Wants Poker Lessons

Drew Barrymore is set to star in the upcoming movie "Lucky You", a movie set at the 2003 World Series of Poker. It seems that Barrymore has been influenced by the movie, as she says that she is ready to learn poker from the pros.

She said that she didn't get the chance to be included in the lessons given to the other actors by poker pros such as Doyle Brunson, as she plays the character of a lounge singer who doesn't really care much for gambling.

"Now that I don't have to stay true to the movie for my character, I'm planning to pick up as many tips as I can from the experts so I can go home and kick my friends' butts," Drew said.

Barrymore even made an appearance at the 2006 WSOP at the Rio Hotel-Casino to promote the film that she stars in along with Eric Bana and Robert Duvall.

Poker pro Jennifer Harman plays a role in the film, while other recognizable names such as Sam Farha and Chris Ferguson make cameo appearances. "Lucky You" is set for a Sept. 8 release.

Barrymore, much as she is into the game, says however that she does not plan to follow in the footsteps of fellow actress Jennifer Tilly, a WSOP gold bracelet winner.

"I really couldn't do that. I made a $200 bet the other night (on blackjack) and I was like thinking it was the craziest thing on the planet," she said.
