The WPS Starts Business Operation in China

On November 11th, 2007, the World Poker Store announced that they have organized a subsidiary called Shenzhen WPS Entertainment Development Corporation Limited or SWEDCL with branches in Shenzhen, China to offer the full experience of being in a casino in Las Vegas to mainland China.

The branch in Shenzhen will utilize high class entertainment facilities to offer upper class Chinese and other clients from abroad the chance to enjoy high-class gaming, different amenities and the chance to see Texas Holdem tournaments. SWEDCL also finalized an agreement with the Luneng Organization to develop an entertainment facility under the Luneng Sanya Bay development.

The development will be in the city of Sanya on Hainan Island. The Sanya development is a 2.5 square mile project that will showcase a marina, golf course, villas, hotel, condominium and entertainment facility. SWEDCL will manage the 25,000 square foot facility for the entertainment district. It will also act as a consultant for the development and help in getting other merchandise, restaurants and even nightclub participants.

The Luneng Group is the 5th biggest real estate developer in China. The organization also owns and manages hotel and other properties around the country. Aside from its agreement Luneng, SWEDCL is also talking with different cities in order to open additional entertainment facilities in the country.

The World Poker Store, which has branches in St. Paul, Minnesota, Amsterdam, Netherlands and now Shenzhen offers Texas Holdem poker games to poker enthusiasts all over the world. The WPS runs hundreds of tournaments every week. The WPS also features an advisory board of top class poker pros like Marcel Luske, phil hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Patrik Antonius, Hoyt Corkins and Liz Lieu.
