Restriction on Poker in The US Draws More Charitable Donations From Top Poker Pros Than Ever

Top poker pros from all over the world have always been generous when it comes to giving to worthy causes. But Daniel Negreanu said that the restriction placed on the game of poker in the United States is drawing out even more.

Negreanu claims that many poker pros are contributing to charitable causes, whether by donating cash, time or effort in some of the events. The poker pros, with the gaming bill in the U.S., are becoming very cooperative and not only for charitable purposes.

Negreanu mentioned that the recently concluded Jennifer Harman Poker Tournament for the Nevada SPCA in Las Vegas was a very good place for top poker pros to play poker together for a good cause, with the prime benefits felt by a lot of charities from all over the country.

Negreanu stated that it is beneficial for both sides because anytime they hold a charitable poker event, many charitable organizations benefit from it. It is a good way to raise the money needed and the poker community has a done a great job helping these charities.

Daniel Negreanu himself was commended for his efforts when he donated 20 poker tables, 40 decks of cards and 20,000 poker chips to a poker tournament held in memory of Adam Pulling, a student from the Western Michigan University who passed away in 2004 because of cancer.

Negreanu said that it seemed like a good idea to him when the people from the tournament approached him about it so he donated the materials for it.

Barry Greenstein is another poker player who donates most of his winnings from poker tournaments to charities, especially the Children Incorporated Charity from Richmond, where he has already donated around $1.5 million.
