PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Begins 30/9/07

The yearly PokerStars World Championship of online poker (WCOOP) will again feature 23 different poker events in their online tournament. There is a $15 million guaranteed cash pool for the event.

The PokerStars Online Poker series started on September 14th, 2007 with a $200 buy-in cost $400,000 guaranteed prize pool 6 handed no limit holdem poker event. The online poker series will end on September 30th, 2007 with the $2,500 buy-in cost and $5 million guaranteed prize pool no limit holdem poker main event.

The 2007 World Championship of Online Poker is a mixed of different poker events that was not previously seen in other poker events. Some of the events that are featured in the tournament are 5 card draw poker event and the deuce to 7 triple draw poker event.

Aside from these events, some of the poker events that are also included in the online series are 7 card stud poker event, Omaha poker event, Razz, H.O.R.S.E. and Holdem poker events like shorthanded, heads-up and triple shootout. The 2006 WCOOP had 18 poker events and $10 million guaranteed cash pool.

The winner of the 2006 WCOOP Main event was J.C. Tran. Tran is the Card Player of the Year leader. Tran played under the screen name, area23JC. He won more than $670,000. PokerStars is currently holding the qualifier for the different poker events at the WCOOP.

The event qualifiers require 400 Frequent Player points with a rebuy option for a super satellite for poker event number five (which is a $500, no-limit holdem poker event) to $320 for an entry into the $2,500 WCOOP main poker event.
