On April 4, 2007, former World Poker Champion, 41 year-old Joe Hachem, discovered that having fame and money comes at a hefty price. Hachem, who has amassed a total of 10 million AUD in the poker games at the Word Series of Poker 2005 in Las Vegas, has announced that he has been forced to vacate his home in Melbourne, Australia after receiving suspicious phone calls and letters.

Joe Hachem, who was born in Lebanon, said that they have to buy a new home since their address is known to many lpeople. He commented that after his decisive and triumphant win at the WSOP event in 2005, he began receiving mail and phone threats. At first he did not pay much attention to them because he thought that the threat was not that serious.

However, after being bothered continuously by the phone calls, he has decided to move because his address is no longer private. Hachem said that since winning the WSOP event, his life changed dramatically. Despite this development, Hachem plans to go to the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas next week to join the World Poker Tour Championship.
