Phil Hellmuth Named as the Chip Leader of the World Poker Tour Championship

On April 24, 2007, Poker Pro Phil Hellmuth Jr., multiple champion and bracelet holder of the World Series of Poker Tournament, finished the second day of the World Poker Tour tournament as the overall chip leader and currently has 528,000 chips in his possession.

Phil Hellmuth finished the day in a very strong position, rarely losing the cash pot and taking great advantage of his image as a tight player when it comes to the game of poker.

The leader board of the World Poker Tour tournament is the virtual who's who of the poker circuit, when it comes to live tournaments as well as online poker pros.

One of them is Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, who finished in third place at the recently concluded Irish poker tournament. He is currently holding 499,300 poker chips, only a few chips shy of the lead. Next is Patrik Antoninus who has 470,000 poker chips.

Other well-known poker pros that had a strong showing that day were Paul Wasicka with 440,000 chips, Anna Wroblewski with 350,000 chips, Dustin "Neverwin" Woolf with 250,000 chips and Freddy Deeb with 240,000 chips.

Currently, Justin "Zeejustin" Bonomo, Phil Ivey and Ram Vaswani are still in contention at the event. The winner of the World Poker Tournament will win around $4 million. There are 218 players remaining in the competition, with the top 100 finishers taking home some money.
