Lee Watkinson : Professional Poker Player

Lee Watkinson was always regarded as one of the top poker players of the next generation but after winning a bracelet at the 2006 World Series of Poker he is one of the best players now.

After playing in some tournaments in 1994 with moderate results, Watkinson went underground but returned in 2003. Since his return he has had a string of great results.

In 2004, he went on something of a hot streak finishing in second place at the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event at the World Series of Poker. With a further number of great results at the World Poker Tour, he was named the 2004 Card Player "Player of the Year".

In 2006 Watkinson finally had the poker world at his feet when he won the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament at the WSOP.

Currently his tournament winnings are around $2.6 million.

Watkinson is an economics graduate. In college, he also competed in wrestling at 142 pounds. He has been playing poker games since high school.
