Johnny Lodden Signs Up as the First Member of the Norwegian PokerStars Pro Team

On March 26th, 2009, PokerStars announced the signing of poker player Johnny Lodden, making him the first event member of the Norwegian Team PokerStars Pro. Lodden's signing finishes a terrific year for the twenty four year old poker player from Jorpeland, highlighted by a 17th place finish at the European Poker Tour Grand Finale in Monte Carlo, Monaco last April 2008 and an 11th place finish at last year's world series of poker Main Event in London.

Those finishes, together with cash in on different poker tournaments, lead to Johnny Lodden being named as the best player in Norway in January. Thomas Udness, the marketing manager of PokerStars.com in Norway said that this signing is a fantastic development for PokerStars.com, Johnny Lodden and the whole poker community in Norway. He added that since Lodden's breakthrough year in 2004, he has played a high level of poker and he deserves his title as the first member of the Norwegian Team PokerStars Pro Team.

A highly successful online poker player for several years, Johnny Lodden has earned over half a million dollars in live poker event winnings since his first cash in at the 2004 St. Maarten Open, with more than half of that total winning coming within the last 12 months. Lodden has been a solid present of late on the European Poker Tour, cashing in 8 times in the last 3 years.
