French Lick Casino to Switch to Automated Poker Tables

Dealers all over the world must be concerned by the amount of poker rooms of casinos all over the world that are switching from live poker tables to automated poker tables. On September 7th, 2008, Dale Nachreiner, the director of casino table games at the French Lick Casino in French Lick, Indiana announced that they are switching to automated poker tables. He said that PokerPro fits the overall goal of their casino.

Their main goal was to make an environment that entices poker players of all skill levels aside from offering a full-service destination resorts. These poker tables are exciting and allow the casino to offer live poker in their newly remodeled non-smoking area with a reduced rake.

Nachreiner said that none of the dealers at the French Lick casino will be affected with the switch. He said the PokerPro has created employment opportunities for casino employees that are also poker dealers on a full-time basis to work in the expanded gaming area without affecting their positions. The good points of the electronic tables include a faster game pace and virtually no mistakes from the dealer.

One person who is not bothered with the switch to dealer-less poker tables is poker author and theorist David Sklansky, who recently signed on to advise PokerTek. There are more than two hundred PokerPro tables installed in license casinos and cardrooms around the world.
