Flip Poker

Flip Overview

Flip is a version of Seven Card Stud which, like Roll Your Own, allows players to select which of their cards they wish to show. It is played by 3-7 players.

Flip Rules

Players ante up, giving a small amount of money into the pot to get the game started. Then the dealer gives each player four cards, face down. Players examine their cards. The dealer counts to three and each player turns two cards face up. The betting round begins with the player showing the best hand.

Players may call the current bet, adding enough money to the pot to match the bet. They may elect to raise, adding more money, and forcing other players who wish to stay in the game to add more money. If they do not wish to put more money in the pot, they can fold, which means they are no longer playing and no longer have a stake in the pot.

The dealer then gives another card, face up, to all players who have stayed in. This is followed by another round of betting, moving clockwise from the player to the dealer’s left. A sixth card is dealt face up, followed by another round of betting.

The seventh card is dealt face down, and is followed by a final round of betting and a showdown. In the showdown, each player tries to form the best possible hand using five of the seven cards they hold. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot.
