The Final Nine Players for the 2008 WSOP Main Event November Final Table

On July 16th, 2008, the final nine for world series of poker has already been decided before play resumes on November 2008. The players participating in the final table are not yet well-known but before the November final, all of them will be well-known to all poker enthusiasts. WSOP officials already awarded ninth place prize money-$900,670 to each of the participants.

The event will take place on November 9th, 2008 until November 10th, 2008 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino for the chance to win the top cash prize of $9.12 million. It is not clear on how playing on the WSOP final table four months from now will affect the performance of the players but it is widely believe that it will be an interesting fight.

The current leader with 26.2 million chips is fifty-three year old Dennis Phillips from Cottage Hills, Illinois. He held a $1.9 million chip lead over Ivan Demidov of Moscow. Winners of the qualifying satellite events have their $10,000 buy-in cost to the main event paid for them. Each participant, whether they won a satellite event or paid their own buy-in cost, sat down with twenty thousand chips when the WSOP Main Event started on July 3rd, 2008. The rest of participants were: 26 year-old Scott Montgomery from Perth, Ontario, Canada, with $19.7 million chips, 22 year-old Peter Eastgate from Odense, Denmark with $18.3 millions.

The other finalists with 10 to 12 million chips between them were Ylon Schwartz from Brooklyn, New York, Darus Suharto of Toronto, David Rheem of Los Angeles and twenty-three year old amateur poker player Craig Marquis from Arlington, Texas.
