F1 Driver Jaime Alguersuari Joins PartyPoker

The youngest F1 driver in history has signed up with PartyPoker on April 27th, 2010. Jaime Alguersuari of Spain will join fellow F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella in representing the online poker site as an ambassador. Now 20, Alguersuari, a native of Barcelona, became the youngest driver in the history of F1 when he participated in the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix at the age of 19.

Alguersuari has always had a passion for the game and will be participating in exclusive poker tournaments and promotions at PartyPoker. Alguersuari said that some people say that he is a novice in F1 and he would say the same about the game of poker.

He said that he has loved poker for so long but with all of his commitments in the F1 circuit, he has a lot to learn about the game. He added that the popularity of the game in Spain is on the upswing and he cannot wait to be a part of it and improve his skills at the poker table by playing online.

Alguersuari said that poker is also very popular with F1 drivers and by becoming a PartyPoker ambassador; he aims to be the best F1 driver poker player. The online site will be offering its poker players the opportunity to meet Alguersuari at both F1 and poker events in the next few months, including world poker tour Barcelona, which will be on May 17th, 2010-May 23rd, 2010.

Fisichella said that if Alguersuari has a natural flair for the game of poker like he does for driving, he can immediately join the poker elite in the F1 circuit. Alguersuari started racing in2005. He won the Italian Formula Renault Winter Series a year later.

He then move up to the British Formula Three Championship in 2008 and won the final three races of the season there to take home the championship, becoming the younger winter in series history at the age of eighteen. Alguersuari moved to F1 in 2009, winning his first points in the Malaysian stop this year. In his most recent F1 race, he finished in 13th place at the Grand Prix in China.
