England Team Wins the PartyPoker Poker Nations Cup

On April 15th, 2008, headed by Roland De Wolfe, Team U.K. pushed themselves to victory at the 2008 PartyPoker Poker Nations Cup and edge out Ireland in the heads-up showdown at the prestigious tournament. The teams that have joined the event are from Germany, Holland, Sweden and the United States but no one could edge out the English team, which was composed of Neil Channing, Surinder Sunar, joe beevers, Ian Frazer and PartyPoker online qualifier Charlie Dublin.

It was Channing who bought home the cup after a close battle with Donnacha O'Dea from Ireland. Captain Roland De Wolfe is happy that they are able to win one for their country and that his selections for the English team were proven reliable and vindicated. All of the six participating teams competed in a tag team match were the judgment of the team captain is crucial especially on when to make substitutions or when to call for time-outs.

After six heats, U.K. reached the final table, sharing the second spot with Holland just behind chip leader Germany. Astonishingly, Team USA, which is composed of chris ferguson, Robert Williamson III, Chad Brown, Montel Williams, Thomas Keller and Jamie Gold was the first one to be edge out of the game. Sweden, who are the defending champions of the event were the next ones to edge out of the event, with Germany following the Defending champions.

Holland was then edge out of the event but despite of that loss, Holland team captain Marcel Luske was happy about the performance of their team. It was the second time that England won the Poker Nations Cup. The event will be shown in Channel 4 in Britain with Vicky Coren, Joe Beevers, Jamie Gold and Padraig Parkinson commentating on the event.
