Playing Early Position in Poker

It is clear that the Poker position is as important for the success of a Poker player as getting a good hand. Poker is all about strategy, and positioning is as good a strategy as bluffing. There are plenty of advantages in being the last to play Poker. However, there are a couple situations when playing early position in Poker can actually work to the player's advantage.

1. You play Poker in the early position (or are one of the first to play in a Poker round), which means you are entitled to pass your turn so as to make the other player's bets raise - the check-raise.
2. Another advantage to playing early position in Poker is that you can eliminate your opponents from the play by making them fold. Your hand will become more prized in the players' eyes if you raise the bets in an early Poker position, before any of the other players ever get the chance to call the first bet.
