Dr. Pepper Poker

Dr. Pepper Poker Overview

Dr. Pepper Poker is a draw poker game, where each player is given five cards. It is suitable for 2-8 players, and twos, fours, and tens are wild.

Dr. Pepper Poker Rules

In Dr. Pepper, before the deal, each player places a small bet known as an ante. After all the players have anted up, the dealer distributes five cards to each player. The players examine their cards, and the first round of betting begins. The player to the left of the dealer begins the round of betting, and the betting moves clockwise. Each player, in turn, can elect to see or call the current bet. Sometimes, that requires adding money to the pot. They can also elect to raise the bet by adding more to the pot than has been added by previous players. They can also choose to fold, giving up their stake in the round. If a player folds, they don’t have to pay any more money, but they don’t get to play anymore either, until the next deal.

After the betting, each player can return up to three cards to the dealer. Depending upon house rules, players holding an ace or a wild card may be allowed to return four cards. After the player returns the cards to the dealer, the dealer gives each player the same number of cards that they returned. At this point, each player holds their final hand. They have a second round of betting. At the end of the second round of betting, the players show their cards. The player with the best hand wins. In Dr. Pepper, the cards two, four, and ten are all wild.
