Clonie Gowens Case Against Full Tilt Poker Dismiss by Judge Robert Jones

Poker pro Clonie Gowen's $40 million lawsuit against Full Tilt Poker has been dismissed again. The case, which was filed on November 14th, 2008, sought $40 million in damages from Full Tilt Poker, Full Tilt Poker players, claiming breach of contract and other violations.

Gowen alleged that back in 2004, she was offered a one percent stake in the poker site in exchange for her services as an endorser but never received any compensation. She was dropped from the Team Full Tilt Poker team just days before the case was filed. Federal Judge Robert Jones granted a motion to dismiss the lawsuit back in April 2009, but the lawsuit was not dismissed in its entirety.

Gowen was given a chance to amend the lawsuit to include just Tiltware, Full Tilt Poker, the related organizations, Bitar and howard lederer as defendants and appeal the decision of the court to dismiss the lawsuit. However, in a decision released on October 14th, 2009, Judge Jones both denied Gowen's appeal and granted the latest motion of Full Tilt Poker to dismiss the newly amended lawsuit.

Although it appears that the lawsuit is not dead yet. Judge Jones has given Gowen leave to change the complaint a 3rd time to include only Tiltware. Gowen and her attorneys have fifteen days from the October 14th, 2009 decision date to file the amended lawsuit. A former teen beauty queen in the state of Oklahoma, Gowen has more than $1.6 million in poker tournament earnings.
