Charity Poker Tournament Raises Thousands for Project Lifesaver

Who said the game of poker was only played for fun and to beef up personal accounts?

Thousands of dollars were raised in a charity poker tournament held for the benefit of the Project Lifesaver Foundation, which was hosted by the founding benefactor of the foundation, Rhett Butler.

Butler is known in the poker world as the fifth placer in the 2006 World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas, Nevada. For his successful final table finish, Butler took home more than $3 million. Since his illustrious win, Butler has gone on to make many other final table appearances in the professional poker tournament circuit.

The charity poker tournament was held so that less fortunate families can have the chance to benefit from the lifesaving technology brought by Project Lifesaver.

"We are very thrilled that Rhett was able to provide such generous support through his poker tournament," said the Executive Director of the Project Lifesaver Foundation Rick Rahim. Rahim encourages other people to try and make a difference in other people's lives by showing interest in the foundation.
