Ben Roberts is one of England’s most successful poker players. He was born Mehdi Javdani in November 1956 in Iran and began playing poker in the mid 1970's.

A staple of European poker he has done well on Late Night Poker and the World Poker Tour. His space in the European Poker Players Hall of Fame is not by accident. Roberts is a great No-Limit and Pot-Limit player and these are the games he concentrates on.

Roberts loves the psychological and mathematical aspects of poker and is known as one of the nicest players to play against. Having a strong grasp of the game and respect for it in addition to his opponents, it is no wonder he is one of the most well liked players on the tour.

At the 2006 World Series of Poker he had final table finishes at the Pot Limit Omaha and Short Handed No Limit Hold'em events but his best WSOP finish was in 1998 when he had sixth place at the Main Event.

When he is not playing poker or surfing the online poker sites, he can be found playing pool or spending time with his three children, and enjoying jazz.

As of 2006, Ben Roberts' total live tournament winnings exceed $800,000.
