Asian Poker Classic Returns to Goa India

On July 18, 2007 it was announced that the Asian Poker Classic II will be held at the Intercontinental Resort in Goa, India once again in March 2008. The poker tournament was a success the first time it was held in Goa. About 140 players participated in the event.The list of last year's participants includes Surinder Sunar, Mel Judah and Willie Tann. The prize money pool was $1,000,000. Danish poker player, Carl Hostrup, won $320,000 at the inaugural Asian Poker Classic.

Imran Hassan, the Director of Operations for the Asian Poker Classic, said that they are excited about the Asian Poker Class II. They will be planning a larger and better tournament this time around. The worldwide influence of the game of poker continues to grow as India proves that it can successfully host an international tournament.

Aside from participating in the poker tournament, the location of Goa is also a prime spot for poker players to go to the beach. The resort town of Goa in India may sound familiar to some people thanks to the opening scenes of the movie, Bourne Supremacy, starring Matt Damon which was filmed in Goa.
