The Absolute Poker College Challenge Event

Absolute Poker is bringing back the Absolute Poker College Challenge (APCC) with $30,000 in cash prizes available to students presently enrolled in a University or College in the United States.

The champion of the APCC will receive $10,000 in cash prizes for their college tuition and the bragging rights for their school. Absolute Poker Pro Matt Vengrin said on October 5th, 2009 that this poker challenge is an exciting and challenging way for college students to compete for an alternative option to pay for their tuition in college.

Vengrin added that they believe that this challenge is one of the best options to make real added value for student. Vengrin attended the Plattsburg State University. Last spring, twenty-four year-old Derek Dilberian, a law student at the University of Florida, outwitted a field of 4,000 participants to win free tuition for a semester in the inaugural College Challenge of Absolute Poker.

Vengrin stated that Absolute Poker expects a bigger playing field in this year's tournament as the College poker-playing community seems to be growing bigger. Although there is no direct buy-in for the main event of the APPC, Absolute Poker is offering an assortment of daily and weekly satellite events with buy-in costs ranging from $.25 to $5. There will also daily freerolls, which can potentially qualify a player for the weekly satellite events.
