Stampede Casino Will Host the 2009 Canadian Open Poker Championships

On February 5th, 2009, the Canadian Poker Tour, which is owned and managed by HeadsUp Entertainment International Incorporated, is happy to announce the details of the 2009 Canadian Open Poker Championship. The poker event will be held on May 13th, 2009 until May 17th, 2009 at the brand new Stampede Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A total of five poker events will take place this year and will again feature a $5,000 buy-in cost Heads Up Main Event.

Last Year, international poker players from all over the world participated in what has been called the best structured heads-up tournament in the world. The Main Event will feature 128 poker players playing best two out of three with $10,000 in starting chips and twenty minute blinds. In 2008, poker pros and celebrities like Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak, antonio esfandiari, gavin smith, Brad Booth and 2008 winner huckleberry seed all came to participate in one of Canada's premier poker events and this year is shaping up to be even better.

With a total cash pool of more than $1,000,000 for the series of poker events, Calgary will be the center of poker action this week which is also known for its big money cash games running 24 hours a day. The Canadian Poker Tour will also be announcing the details of the Ultimate Player's Party that will be held on May 13th, 2009.
