Six Card Stud Poker

Six Card Stud is a rarely played game which is similar to Seven Card Stud. It is suitable for 3-8 players.

Players ante up to begin the game. The ante is the initial sum that players add to the pot. The dealer gives each player one card facedown and one card face-up. Then there is a round of betting. Beginning with the player showing the highest card, players can choose to call the current bet by putting the correct amount in the pot. They may choose to put more in the pot in order to raise the bet, forcing others to pay more in order to stay in. If they don’t wish to stay in, they may choose to fold, giving up all rights to the pot.

Cards number three through five are dealt, one by one, face-up. There is a betting round after each card is dealt.

The sixth card is dealt facedown, followed by a final betting round. Then there is the showdown. Using five of their six cards, players form the best possible poker hand. The player with the best hand wins the pot.
