Poker Tournament Held by Exchange Club for Local Charities

On March 25, 2007, hundreds of poker players put their skills to the test in order to help a local charitable organization raise enough money for their projects. The Exchange Club of Winchester held their first ever casino night, featuring different games, such as a Texas Hold'em poker tournament.

More than 300 players played poker, as well as other casino table games like craps, blackjack and roulette. But instead of gambling for money, players that won that night were awarded different prizes. The game of poker and the different casino table games have been a popular crowd drawer in the area, especially with residents, so the Exchange Club of Winchester decided to hold a poker fundraiser.

Organizers of the fundraiser commented that the main goal of the casino night was to foster familial spirit within the community and support the goals and projects of the Child Parent Abuse Center for Troubled families. The charitable organization has been in the forefront of the fight to protect children and even their parents against all forms of abuse. The profits from the poker tournament will be used for the Exchange Club Programs, which are based in Winchester.
