Poker Pro Vladimir Geshkenbein Signs With Team PKR PRO

Team PKR Pro signed up 2009 PokerStars APPT Macau High Roller and PKR Heads Up Grand Slam Champion Vladimir Geshkenbein on December 10th, 2009.

The 21 year-old poker player from Moscow, Russia, who defeated Johnny Chan in the heads-up showdown to take home the title and the $266,690 cash prize in Macau, then went on to defeat Finnish veteran poker pro Juha Helppi to become the PKR Heads Up champion and take home $120,000, will now represent PKR at live poker events across the world and online in PKR's poker tournaments and cash games.

PKR Marketing Director Simon Prodger said that they have been following Vladimir's progress in the poker circuit for quite some time now. Prodger said that Geshkenbein is an excellent and exciting poker players and enjoyable to watch at the poker tables. Geshkenbein, who plays under the screen name "beyne" on PKR, spent two years participating in low and middle stakes poker tournaments until January 2009 when he moved to Malta to play poker professionally.

Matchroom Sport Managing Director Eddie Hearn, who produced the PKR Heads-Up Grandslam, said that Geshkenbein's performance as a poker has been more than impressive. Hearn said that poker viewers are in for a fantastic treat when they seen Geshkenbein in action in the upcoming PKR Heads Up Grand Slam on Sky Sports in January 2010.

As a member of Team PKR Pro, Geshkenbein will be posting in the forums of PKR, give commentary on PKR.TV and writing blogs from live poker events.

The other eight members of Team PKR Pro include Henrik "Pokey85" Eklund, Ashley "Ashleyhames1" Harnes, Raymond "callmebabe" O'Mahoney, Kai "Kingkai84" Paulsen, James "James666" Sudworth, Andrew "Golfpro699" Teng, Karl "discomonkey" Fenton and Adrien "zlatan35 Allain.
