NBC Launches "Face the Ace" Poker Show

On April 30th, 2009, NBC is ready to conquer prime-time with its brand new poker series. NBC announced that it would debut a new poker-themed show this August entitled "Face the Ace". The poker show will be hosted by Sopranos Star Steve Schirripa will give participants a golden opportunity to play against some of the biggest names in the poker circuit for as much as $1 million.

The poker series will premiere on August 1st, 2009, Saturday, at 9:00 p.m. The Full Tilt Poker sponsored program is currently contracted for 7 one hour shows. The 2nd episode will air at 9:00 p.m. on August 8th, 2009 before the show is moved a to-be determined Saturday afternoon slot. Each participant on the show will have the chance to play against the best poker players in the world.

The participant will pick one of the four doors and face whichever poker pro is looming behind the door. Participants will automatically lose if they fail to beat their opponent. If they win, they can take whatever cash they have earned or challenged another poker pro. Players can take home as much as $1 million.

Poker pros that will participate in Face the Ace include Patrik Antonius, jennifer harman, phil ivey, chris ferguson, erick lindgren, howard lederer, phil gordon, gus hansen and others.

Full Tilt poker players can earn a slot as a contestant on Face the Ace by participating in freerolls on the online site. Prize packages will include a five-day, four night stay in Las Vegas, Nevada with $500 shopping money and a chance to audition for the show.
