Manny Pacquiao at the Poker Tables

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, a Philippine boxing hero, is set to join a poker tournament on July 24-26. The event is the prestigious Hold'em Poker Tournament in Las Vegas, according to Shelly Finkel, Pacquiao's American Manager.

The boxer revealed his intentions of participating in the Hold'Em tournament during the final phase of his boxing training in Los Angeles. Many do not know that Pacman has a passion for playing poker, as well as cockfighting, playing the guitar, chess and even golf.

Pacman is expected to be leaving for the US on July 14 to watch lightweight Randy Suico's fight against American-Mexican Juan Diaz for the World Boxing Association 135-lb title at the MGM Grand set for July 15.

Pacman is scheduled to have a match with Erik Morales Nov. 18 at the Thomas and Mack Center. He said that he would be trying his best to put away the last of doubts regarding who is the better player by scoring a win more savage and dramatic than their fight earlier this year. The Mexican and Pacman are having a rematch after Pacquiao beat Morales in the 10th round that previous match.

Pacquiao is regarded by many as one of the finest fighters in the world regardless of weight, and has been launched into superstardom in the Philippines.
