Justin "BoostedJ" Smith Signs With Full Tilt Poker

Poker pro Justin "BoostedJ" Smith confirmed on July 28th, 2009 on poker forum two+two that he is now officially a member of red team pro on Full Tilt Poker. A well-respected poker player in the international circuit, Smith recently made the final table of the world poker tour Bellagio Cup V and end finishing in third place for total cash prize of $464,870.

In an astonishing turn of events, Smith injured his knee while celebrating a card hand he won in the final table and became the first poker player in World Poker Tour to sustain a serious mishap at the televised Bellagio Cup V final table. Before his Bellagio performance, Smith had a highly successful world series of poker, cashing in a total of 5 times for more than $100,000 in event winnings.

His highest finish was in 8th place in the $10,000 World Championship Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo tournament. Smith was born in Hartford, Connecticut but currently lives in Orlando, Florida. Known as a formidable online poker player, Smith has been known to dominate high-stakes mixed poker games on Full Tilt poker. In 2007, Smith won at the FTOPS III Main Event and take home a total of $232,000.

Smith is also an instructor for the PokerVT training site of daniel negreanu. The only downside of Justin Smith's agreement with Full Tilt poker is that he will have to give up his "BoostedJ" nickname and instead play with his own name. Several poker pros including Brian Townsend and Patrik Antonius went on significant downswings after becoming Full Tilt poker pros and getting their real names in red.
