INHD Introduces the National Poker League (NPL) Vegas Open

The first National Poker League Vegas Open was held on June 2 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the inaugural event in a series of NPL circuit events. INHD has full coverage of the event, and will begin broadcasting the new series in more than 13 episodes beginning July 2. Unlike many televised poker competitions, the NPL offers their poker participants the chance to become television celebrities in their own right by maximizing on the game and not focusing on sky-high bets. The event was held in Caesars' new luxurious 14,500 square foot poker room and was open to public, drawing in poker players by the hundreds.

Airing July 2 on INHD, the pilot episode will feature Preliminary event #1 started the NPL with 79 players creating a $76,000 prize pool. Newcomers Keith Tilston, Brian Niekerk, Jesse Bissonette, and chip leader Robert Cheung, with veteran poker players Tony Cousineau and Max Pescatori entered the final table in the exciting first airing of NPL Vegas Open. A little preview: Cosineau was aggressive in earlier rounds, with Tilston and Cheung matching the action as they battled head-on on several occasions. The two-day tournament paid 10 spots, with first place of $26,821.

Ten winners were chosen to compete in the semis from the ten daily $1,000 preliminary poker tournaments. The ten returned June 16th where they had a random draw that determined who they would be competing against in a series of $25,000 heads-up freeroll matches. Five players finally advanced to Saturday's winner-take-all on-table freeroll competition. The winner was awarded the first-ever National Poker League trophy, taking home $100,000 in prize money.

Tournament directors and developers Rob Huxley and Kyle Morris with INHD executives gave the press a preview of a well-executed and impressive production. The coverage promises to deliver a fast-paced program coupled with sleek graphics. The pilot episode will be aired 10:30 PM EST on Sunday, July 2 in INHD Network, one of the most widely distributed HD networks on cable today.

A formidable duo adds to the thrill of the program. Oliver Nejad will be doing the commentary, offering expert poker analysis together with WSOP champion Scott Fischman offering his "In The Tank" poker tips. Their commentaries will be interspersed throughout each episode, with feature segments on the Caesar's Palace Hotel and Casino. There will also be interesting segments featuring profiles and interviews with the poker participants, a poker pro "Tip of the Day," a tournament "Play of the Day," with an additional introductory segment from INHD, "Las Vegas: High Rolling and High Living Mojo Style."
