Hurricane Poker

Hurricane Overview

Hurricane is also called 2 Card Stud. It has two betting rounds and is very easy to play. It is suitable for 3-8 players.

Hurricane Rules

Before the deal, players ante up, placing a small sum in the pot. The dealer gives each player one card facedown. There is a round of betting. Betting begins with the player to the dealer’s left and goes clockwise around the table. Each player, in turn, decides whether to call, raise, or fold. If a player wishes to stay in the game, they can pay just the amount of the current bet, referred to as calling. They may also pay more, raising the current bet for all of the other players. If they don’t wish to put any money in the pot, they can quit, called folding.

When the betting round is over, each player receives another card, this time face-up. Then there is another round of betting, followed by the showdown. Players show their cards, and the player with the best card wins the pot. Pairs are the best possible hand, and high cards are next best.
