Fox to Broadcast PokerStars.net Big Game

PokerStars is covering a new high-stakes cash poker game TV show this May 2010 that will be shown on Fox five days a week beginning in June 2010. The PokerStars.net Big Game will showcase a table filled with some of the best poker players in the world including Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Rousso, daniel negreanu, barry greenstein, Jason Mercier, greg raymer and chris moneymaker.

Each week, top poker amateurs, a PokerStars.net qualifier or the "Loose Cannon" and a PokerStars SuperNova Elite player, will participate in the table. To improve the action, the Loose Cannon will bring a $100,000 stake to the game and only be able to take home what she or he makes over that amount of money.

Should the qualifier make a profit, they will be given an opportunity to walk away or return for a make-or-break game. Four online qualifiers are being offered everyday on PokerStars.net.

Negreanu said that this show has all the necessary features to make it highly successful on TV. He said that it is a cash game, which all die hard poker enthusiasts prefer and it is guaranteed to be feature a lot of action because of the Loose Cannon.

Blinds in the No-Limit Hold'em game will be set at $200 /$400 with a $100 ante. Each game will go 150 card hands. The one-hour poker show, which is produced by MandM Productions and Hollybrook Regency, will be filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada this May 2010 and will start airing on Fox on June 14th, 2010.

Hosted by Amanda Leatherman, the show will also feature player interviews and will show the lifestyles of poker pros. At the conclusion of the twelve weeks on the air, the top "Loose Cannon" of the season will take home a PokerStars.net Passport, giving the player free entry into all North America Poker Tour (NAPT) events for the next year.
