I have a question, I just saw the Elizabet Taylor comercial where 2 guys are playing poker. The jest of it is that the one doesn't have enough money to cover the bet, he has all his money on the table, and therefore is about to lose the bot. Elizabeth then puts one of her diamonds on the table to cover the bet, and he wins the had.

Is this how the rules actually work? If I am playing poker, and have all my money in the pot, can somebody raise the bet, and essentially bet me out of the game? If not, has this ever been the case? If so, I can't see how a game of poker could be played as the person with the most money at the table would always win..

I appreciate any comments.
