California Card Rooms Offer Post-Holiday Poker Tournaments

This holiday weekend, gamblers are invited to stretch and try to lose the holiday weight gained from all that dinner by trying their hands in the local card rooms.

Gaming halls around Brooks down to San Jose and the California Bay Area are offering dozens of poker tournaments along with other card games.

November 24th for instance, a poker tournament will be taking place at Bay 101 Casino in San Jose. Don't fret if Bay 101 has shelved its regular midnight tournament this evening, for in turn, it is offering a $60 Spread Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament at 9:45 a.m. The tournament features a $20 re-buy, which will enable the players to continue playing at a discount, even after they have lost their entire chip stack.

Those looking for action closer to San Francisco, can check out the tournaments offered at Lucky Chances in Colma and Artichoke Joe's in San Bruno on Sunday, November 26.

Artichoke Joe's features a regular 6:45 p.m. No-Limit tournament with a $49 buy-in, 2 re-buys, and a $3,000 payout offering to the winner.

On the other hand, at Lucky Chances, poker tournament starts at 9:00 in the morning and their game is a Spread Limit affair that features a $200 buy-in with a $25 re-buy.
