Asian Poker Classic Tournament of 2007 Held in Canacona India

On February 24, 2007, the Intercontinental Grand Resort located at Canacona, India announced that they will be hosting the Asian Poker Classic that will take place from March 1-5, 2007, with a $1 million in prize money at stake in the competition.

This is the largest poker tournament ever held in India. The organizers of the competition have even guaranteed an added $250,000.

A lot of poker professionals, celebrity poker professionals and even online poker qualifiers are expected to participate in the event. According to the Director of Events for the Asian Poker Classic, Minaxshi Shah, they are expecting around 150-200 players in the tournament especially with the $250,000 added to the prize.

Tournament Director, Thomas Kremser, stated that the Asian Poker Classic is the largest poker tournament in the Indian poker calendar for 2007. Not only is it the biggest poker event ever held in India, it is considered the largest poker event in the entire world at the moment and Goa is just a beautiful backdrop for it.
