Allen Cunningham - The "Clever Piggy"

Back

Allen Cunningham one of the most accomplished young players in the game, has been dubbed best all-around player under 35 by his peers among many other titles he's earned.

In 1999 Cunningham's boom in the poker business began. That year he won six major tournaments including The Legends of Poker, $300 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo tournament and the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em tournament. He was honored in being named "Best All-Around Player of 1999." Realizing his remarkable success Cunningham decided to leave his engineering degree in UCLA and has never looked back saying "It's a move he hasn't regretted." (FullTiltPoker.com) 1999 was just the tip of the iceberg.

He has already accumulated four World Series of Poker bracelets. One from the 2001 $5,000 Seven-card stud, a second from the 2002 $5,000 Deuce to Seven Draw, and in the 2005 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em along with the title of ESPN/Toyota WSOP Player of the Year and a brand new pick-up truck. In the 2006 WSOP it was his biggest payout, he reached four final tables, collecting a bracelet in the No Limit Hold'em/w Re-buys and finishing fourth in the Main Event, earning $3,628,513.

Cunningham's play on the felt is quiet and controlled. He is more of an analytical player rather than an emotional player, hence the nickname "Clever Piggy." This strategy creates a challenge for his opponent's abilities of reading him.

His total live tournament winnings up until 2006 already exceeds $8,200,000.

No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha and $300-$600 Mixed Games are the games Allen Cunningham prefers. Online, you’ll find him at the online poker rooms on Full Tilt. He's been recently taken into the Full Tilt team in October 2006.
