The World poker Store, a Las Vegas based gambling business, with offices in St. Paul, Minnesota, held their 4th Annual Texas Hold'em state finals tournament. The tournament was held at the Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, Minnesota on August 11th, 2007.
With over 540 participants in the state finals and twenty-seven teams the competition began on August 10th, 2007. The World Poker Store's Bar Poker League hosted a total of 1,000 participants and visitors during the event.
Participants qualified for the finals at the local casino facilities through a point system. The local casino partners awarded the $10,000 dollars buy-in for the 2008 world series of poker Main Event together with airfare to Las Vegas and hotel accommodations for the WSOP held yearly in July.
Currently, the Bar Poker League has 25,000 members and will continue to grow with the league's introduction to other states. Mitch Minick won the event. The Chief Executive Officer of the World Poker Store Chuck Chastain said that their players still made the effort to participate in the state finals despite the bad weather.
The team poker tournaments have become a big deal and an essential part of the Bar Poker League over the past year and they are looking forward to holding poker state final competitions as well as team competitions.
With the ongoing operations in Minnesota, Florida, Wisconsin and soon to 23 other states, the WPS' Bar Poker League continues to accept members and open new locations for No-Limit Texas Holdem poker events.
With 100 poker tournaments every week, the Bar Poker League offers a unique gaming experience to every type of individuals at restaurants all over the country and hosts members at the barpokerleague.com.
With the goal of bringing the game to ordinary people and helping charitable organizations, the World Poker Store also collaborates with local non-government organizations and corporations to hold professional Texas Holdem tournaments with the profits going to noteworthy causes.
An example of these tournaments is the Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament hosted yearly in Minnesota at Canterbury Park.
Some of the participants at the tournament include Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Jackie Chan, phil hellmuth, Marcel Luske, Patrik Antonius, Hoyt Corkins and many more. The main beneficiary of the tournament was the Trent Tucker Youth Program.
The World Poker Store Incorporated also operates two retail stores in Minnesota at the Southdale Center, Rosedale Center. The World Poker Store is the only business establishment that specializes in poker related merchandise like poker tables, books, DVDs and others.
